(Macy is beeing positive...)
Today is supposed to be INTERNATIONAL BE POSITIVE DAY. In-light of the devastating storms yesterday, I know it is hard to put on a happy face and be positive. But perhaps it is needed more than ever.
We can make a difference for the people of Oklahoma by suggesting our Twitter, Facebook and blog friends can make a donation, no matter how big or small to help out. With so many homes lost the Red Cross will use up its emergency resources quickly.
So my dear friends...Please go out and spread some positive words...
Hugs (and prayers),
Sharon
Hi Sharon .. what a great idea - and so pleased you've put the link up.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with all the people who have been affected by the tornadoes ..
Exactly the words we needed to read today .. Hilary
Macy is being positive even though there's a costume involved. Resistance to putting it on or doesn't mind?
ReplyDeleteYou know my thoughts on this. Disasters happen everyday in different ways. Our followers and friends are international. Just because this hits closer to home for some of us, doesn't mean on another day, something else would hit closer to home for your other readers.
Look at the Boston Marathon week. More people died in Afghanistan that day than at the Marathon. Because of its atypical nature here, Boston got most of the media attention and sympathy.
Victims can use positivity too, so I'm glad you've organized this.
So glad you organized this. I posted about it on my blog today.
ReplyDeleteDuring our disaster five years ago Red Cross fed not only the homeless but the people working to help rescue and recover. Red Cross does amazing things. You can never go wrong donating to them.
ReplyDeleteToday it's more important than ever to stop focusing on the negative and find positive things to be thankful for.
ReplyDeletePrayers are going out to all those affected by the devastating storms.
ReplyDeleteGlad this day can be a little ray of light despite the recent events!
ReplyDeletePrayers and positive vibes will definitely be a focus today for the poor people and what they've been through.
ReplyDeleteTimes like these bring us all closer together. And focusing on helping and hope will get them through these times. Humans are so resilient.
It is nice to see you back here.
ReplyDeleteI shall thank you and Robyn and Hilary and of course Lenny for this International Be Positive Day.
Our Daughter's company matches any donations given so we shall give through her for Oklahoma's Devastation victims.
Thanks for the link though.
Did you see that video of that woman finding her dog in the rubble? It made her so happy and really put things in perspective. You can find it on my FB wall if you haven't seen it yet.
ReplyDeleteSending out a round of hugs--have a wonderful day you guys. :)
What a wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for organizing this... positivity ROCKS!

Never knew there was such a day. Can I be positive in a negative way? lo
ReplyDeletePositive? Always. =) I think it's easy to take for granted the most important things in our lives: our family. Whenever I hear about disasters like these, I hug my "littles" close and ponder on how truly blessed I am.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteWe were in two minds in regards to putting up a posting in light of the horrendous tornado situation in Oklahoma. And thus, instead of posting about "Happy International Be Positive Day" I'm going to share your posting around to as many networks links as possible and your link to the Red Cross.
If we can provide a modicum of comfort through such an ordeal, than the positivity shall be there for all to see.
Thank you, Sharon.
Hugs,
Gary
Excellent post, Sharon. The Red Cross is a wonderful charity.
ReplyDeleteTotal we all need to be positive.
ReplyDeleteI hope many people donate to the Red Cross. An extraordinary organization.
ReplyDeleteThis is when we need to be positive the most. I hope everyone is donating to their Red Cross folks!
ReplyDeleteHello lovely Sharon!!
ReplyDeleteOh I just watched BBC news! My prayers and thoughts go to the people of Oklahoma - how awful and terrifying! :-(
Big hugs to you too! Take care
x
You are brilliant! ((Hugs)) - which sounds so lame - to those affected by the storms. I can't even imagine the horror. The Red Cross is a wonderful organization. I've donated blood many times.
ReplyDeleteYay for Be Positive Day!!!
ReplyDeleteMy heart and prayers go out to those devastated by Oklahoma's tornado. So many natural disasters. It's so heartbreaking.
Love Be Positive Day (should be every day)! It is the best antidote for the horrors and tragedies. My heart and prayers go to those affected~
ReplyDeleteLovely post. We should spread positive everyday. So sad about the Oklahoma tornado.
