Something Like That...

When life gives you a bowl full of cherries...make cherry pie!  (and send some to Lenny)

I know you expect me to write posts full of wisdom, but today I've got nothing.  Cross my heart hope to die stick a needle in my thigh.

Do any of you or your characters accidentally get things mixed up?  This week I locked my keys in the car, in the pump line at a gas station.  I had to call a locksmith.  (So, if you were wondering, my hair is naturally blond.)

Speaking of wise people the Awesome Terry Lynn Johnson is having a fantastic giveaway!

The talented Talli Roland released her second novel, Watching Willow Watts, this week.  If you don't know Talli, she's a wicked cool Brit.  You can find her on her blog and Goodreads.  Congratulations, Talli!

Hugs to all...

  1. I know I get things mixed up . . . but my characters not as often. It would be interesting to see what kind of plot could come out of a mix-up, though.

I'm sorry to hear you had to call a locksmith!

  7. You know what - all this time and I just realised your blog pic is a Fullers' Pub!??!?! How cool is that!?!?

Yay!! Oh no!! You locked yourself out of your car! Oh dear - glad that ended well! Of course you're a natural blonde - what are you trying to insuate!??!?

My sister and I locked ourselves out and our cats on the very first day we moved to our new home. The cats were brought in, my sister and I walked out, shut the door and couldn't find the keys. Nice neighbour rang the fire brigade. These big firemen came stomping up our driveway peering through the windows and saying to us "did you know there's cats in the house?" And when we said, yes, there's five, they couldn't believe it and we could already see them think "crazy cat ladies alert"!
    Take care

  9. Oh, what a bummer to lock yourself out of your car. Well, I've had many moments like that in my life. I'm not blonde, but I guess I am on the inside. My list of mess-ups is way too long to put in a comment! Hope you have a great weekend.

  10. Hi Sharon .. don't we all - frustrating to say the least - the only advantage is the blond is well settled in!

Hope you're feeling more relaxed now -enjoy the weekend .. cheers Hilary

  13. Oh yay! Thank you so much for the shout out and for your kind words! :)

I am forever mixing things up. Not good!

  14. Oh yes, mixing up is all too easy. All you have to do is take certain crucial steps out of order, and whammo.

  15. Get things mixed up? Welcome to my life, my dear...

  16. My characters get things mixed all the time like I do. I'm glad you got your keys back!

I've locked the keys in my hubby's semi-truck in the middle of the night (about 2 am that is) and we found a way to retrieve them. My hair is black. Hmmmm... ;)

  17. Can so relate to your experience. Last Saturday I dropped my daughter at high school swim, but it got moved. She tried to call me but my cell phone was dead. So she called her dad and he got a flat tire on the way. They got a hold of me once I got home. Not a great day.

  18. I'm getting more things mixed up the older I get. For the first time this year, I locked myself out of my car. Like you, this happened at a gas station.

    I love the gigantic cherry.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  19. My specialty is running out of gas. Apparently the Ph.D. doesn't completely compensate for the blonde. :)

  20. I get things mixed up all the time. It's great to meet you.

  21. Dang, you're good! hehe

Hmmm, I leave the living room knowing what I want to retrieve in the kitchen, by the time I arrive at my destination (the kitchen), I have completely forgotten what I came there for. So I grab a Reese and munch out, wondering if Lenny is eating one too.

Shhhh. Don't spread it around that I'm a total daffy ditz!

  22. This is a cool photo Sharon! I love that big cherry!

Don't you hate when you do something frustrating like lock your keys in your car! I did that once a long time ago. Now I have "OnStar" in my car and don't have to worry about it.

    Wishing you a happy week!

  23. I do stuff like you do all the time. Once I found my keys in my own hands after searching for them for way too long. I guess I'm also a natural blond.

  24. Love that photo! (How does that cherry stay up there?) One of my favorite "duh" moments is looking all over for my glasses when they're on top of my head. I've done it a few times.

  25. I'm so sorry about the keys! I hate when things like that happen! I've locked myself out of the house with all my little ones. That was a long day.

  26. My sister-in-law lost her keys twice, called a locksmith twice, and later--both times-- found the keys in her pocket. If that makes you feel better. And she was only blond as a child. :)

    Hang in there, Sharon!

    Have a great day, Sharon!

  29. Everyone's been there. Don't worry. Locked myself out of my room back at university more than once! Thanks for the links. :)

  30. Ever since I've dyed my hair blonde, I do dumber things. :o) Maybe it is true about the color? Kidding!

Characters gain dimension when they do (pertinent to plot) things us normal people do.

    Have a great night!

  31. I read a blog where the writer sometimes makes references to being "blonder than she pays to be" - always gets a smile out of me! I can up you one: I locked my keys in the car once with a toddler in the baby strapped into carseats in the back, out of reach of the locking mechanism to help me! Fortunately they slept through the waiting for the locksmith part).
