("Please be generous and give away some of this stuff. I'm tired of walking around it!")
I'm on day 7 of Arlee Bird's A-Z Challenge! Since I write for younger children and we're doing the ABC's, I thought I'd do The ABC's of A Good Friend (and throw in a few random pictures, because I have a bit of a camera habit).

~G~
A generous friend is one who is willing to give of their heart, their time and, yes, their stuff for the benefit of others. I love friends who believe in a cause passionately. I try and support those friends beliefs. I'm always grateful when a friend invites me to walk in an event promoting one of their causes. (*waves Susie and Holly*)
Have you been blessed with the opportunity to be generous to a friends passion? Do you have any other "G" words that describe a good friend?
I love generous, it often happens when you least expect it. I had to laugh though, for some reason Goofy came to mind with some of my friends!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big believer in being grateful--and I have friends who are generous with their time for a host of causes. It's actually nice because I'm usually so scattered, so a friend who is focused on one cause sort of slaps me into awareness and lets me direct my resources in a certain direction.
ReplyDeleteGood words, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteI like gregarious personalities and someone I can giggle with and gorge myself on ice cream with without any guilt! LOL. :-)
genuine!
ReplyDeleteGood Friends are Glad for your accomplishments. Generous in their delight for any good fortune that comes your way. Gallant in times of need and Gentle when you hurt.
ReplyDeleteGood friends are hard to find. They are Giant pluses in our lives!
ReplyDeleteGood friends are G-RE-AT!
ReplyDeleteGiving, Gentle .... and I can't think of anymore with G.
Generous is a great word - and not always easy to find :)
ReplyDeleteGenuine generous friends are so hard to find so yay for them!!!!
ReplyDeleteI suppose my G would be gorgeous at heart!! :-) Take care

Lovely word, Sharon. Friendship is made when two people are generous in
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than a genuine friend. Great use of G!
ReplyDeleteGenuine, I think a good friend is genuine, doesn't put on airs. You can be genuine with a good friend. You don't have to watch what you talk about.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to direct the challenge to youngsters. You might have a book when we get to Z.

Thankyou for commenting on my post. I'll reply over there, but I think it's fair to say that friendships are vital, particularly for anyone suffering bullying.(It's so lovely to come across positive blogs when I'm immersing myself in such a depressing topic, thanks!)

Ok, so I am grateful for your blog! What a great blog! I like your approach. Thanks for following MILLERWRITES.
ReplyDeleteHey Sharon,
ReplyDelete'G', you've made it :) I think it's just jolly good that so many bloggers are taking up the challenge to learn the alphabet...
Seriously Sharon, I like the way you are approaching this challenge thing and today's episode of 'Bloggy Street' is brought to you by the letter 'G'. Gosh eh :)
"Have you been blessed with the opportunity to be generous to a friends passion?" Dare I answer that? LOL
Take care and keep smiling.
In kindness, Gary :)
I LOVE giggling and gorging without guilt!! You're my type of gal. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like everyone has thought of some great G words for friends. I'd like to add...um...I can't think of anymore!
Does enGaging count? No? Well, lemme' see what else I can come up with. hmmmm; gumption? A good friend has gumption enough to jump in an' help when it's needed. They also have enough gumption to tell a friend when there's a pro'lem, such as bad breath.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Sharon, an' I love the way you are working it like a picture book. Good on ya'.

I love these A-Z challenges! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteGenuine is a big word for a great friend. Generous (with their time, when needed), is another.
