Happy Birthday, Marilyn! Marilyn has a kitty blog (fuzzy hug) and a writing teacher blog (oh yeah)...My friend Brian (Ginger waves her paw to Brian the cat), asked me to share in Marilyn's birthday celebration and of course I said yes. (I'm hoping there will be CAKE!)
Have a wonderful day, Marilyn...
Let's talk about birthday wishes, while your thinking about Marilyn and her birthday cake....
For the past twenty years or so I've pretty much tried to ignore my birthday. No birthday cakes (Yeah, can you believe it?). My dear hubby usually takes me out for dinner, but for several years in a row he was always in Chicago at a convention the week of my birthday...
But this year was different....
We had sooooo much fun celebrating a certain someone's birthday and planning his birthday surprises that I wasn't all doom and gloom when December rolled around. That certain someone found out that my birthday was coming up and started asking me about it. I couldn't be a grump, so with his help I started feeling a bit excited about having a birthday. I even told my hubby and Katherine I wanted a cake... (You can see my birthday cake here if you want to.)
More than a hundred people "said" Happy Birthday to me on facebook, or my blog or Lenny's blog or via email and it really really mattered to me. It changed how I look at my birthday and the value of my words on other people's birthdays. When I get that birthday reminder from facebook I keep it all week, check it daily and make sure I say "Happy Birthday" to my fb friends....Cause my one little wish might matter...If I know you well enough to be your fb friend, I should be willing to take a few moments to say something to you at least once a year, right? I don't friend everyone...I friend people I know or have communications with...so if we blog know each other (which means we exchange comments and emails) and you have your birthday listed on your fb page...expect to hear from me at least once this year...(LOL, like I'm only gonna bug you once!)
I hope Marilyn has an awesome birthday and that everyone checks the fb stats to see who they need to wish a Happy Birthday to.
Marilyn, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope your day is super special. Cute kitty blog.

Then, we had fun when we got to be a part of your birthday. Now, I'm headed over to Marilyn's to wish her a Happy Birthday! I truly enjoy comin' to your blog 'cause you are always fun.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
~ Yaya
May Marilyn have a blessed birthday this year!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteThis is most heart warming and may your friend Marilyn have a wonderful birthday.
I'm glad that so many folks wished you a 'Happy Birthday' on 'Farcebook'. What a nice thought.
May you have a peaceful day.
Kind wishes, Gary :-)
I check FB every day for birthdays too. Its a great way to be reminded because left to myself I would forget. Oh, and happy birthday Marilyn!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Marilyn! And I'm so glad you enjoyed your birthday this year, Sharon! I always look forward to mine - I just get a childlike excited feeling every time! It's something to do with the love and presents and getting to see/talk to most of the people I love on the same day!
ReplyDeleteawe, that's really sweet! And it's true its always nice to see those fb, twitter, blog birthday messages! So glad to hear you had a good one and I hope Marilyn does as well (though I'm sure she will with a friend like you!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Marilyn!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Marilyn and happy belated birthday to you Sharon! I STILL haven't joined FB yet - don't know if I'll ever get there! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your friend Marilyn!! I hope her day was special!! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday, Marilyn.
ReplyDeleteI try to say happy bday on a regular basis on Facebook. I hope it brings a smile to people's faces.
Wow! Just WOW!!! I'm so amazed ... all these birthday wishes are so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYes, the day ... in fact, the whole week and weekend! ... was really nice. There were normal things (getting my granddaughter to school, meeting her bus after school, etc.) and some celebratory things: dinner with my daughter and her three children (her husband was working). Dinner with them is always fun -- lots of laughs and conversation that only schoolkids can contribute! I just love 'em!!
Thank you to everyone. Clearly your wishes for me came true! =)
Marilynn
Last fall was my first birthday on Facebook, and I loved all the birthday wishes I got! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteIn fact your saying you don't do games where you need one hundred friends to enlarge your property or something like that so one goes somewhere where those who want friends on farmville are listed.
ReplyDeletefb has a service which tells you when, that gadget is so wonderful.
