A Prize, Two Awards and A Thought...

The post lady delivered me a wonderful surprise this week!  I had forgotten that Random.org had chosen me as one of the winners of Bethany's contest...Bethany has just landed her dream job!  You'll have to check out her blog to read about it...
Bethany shared her recipe for Pixie Popcorn in my prize package:
1 bag of popped popcorn
5-6 pixie stixs
Mix together and enjoy while writing...(I hope that you'll hop over and meet Bethany!)  Thank you Bethany!!!

Claudia Del Balso honored me with the Versatile Blogger award.  Claudia has a wonderful blog full of insightful and helpful posts for writers.  If you haven't met Claudia you really should click the link and meet her...

Here are the award rules:

Award Rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you this award and provide a link to their blog
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 5 other bloggers whom you have recently discovered and whose blogs you think are fantastically versatile/ resourceful/functional/adaptable.
4. Contact those bloggers you’ve picked and let them know about their award.

Seven things about myself:
1. The Arkansas Razorbacks are my favorite college football team.
2. I'm scared of spiders and werewolves.  (I realize the second is not a logical fear, but it's my fear and it's real for me.)
3. I love cupcakes!
4. I don't like small spaces...at all!  (Caves are no fun for me!)
5. Dusting is my least favorite chore.
6. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
7. Coffee is my favorite writing snack...I make a pot, pour it into a flask and then get busy writing...

I'd like to pass it along to five six new blogging friends:

Kristen Hilty  is an aspiring picture book writer....I met her at SCBWI KS!
Jude is a wicked cool and into reading manuscripts, song writing and Keysi...Jude is holding a Halloween contest.  So hop over and join in on the fun!

PK Hrezo  has already committed to NaNo...Have you?
Justine-Dell is a blogger with a great heart.  I met her through Lenny.  :)

My dear critique buddy Lenny introduced me to another one of his friends, Gary.  Gary honored me with this award...I have to tell you guys this about Gary...He lives in Leek, England.  Now that may not mean a whole lot to you, but it means a LOT to me!  It is the setting for my picture book EVERYONE DID THEIR PART  and my mid grade novel (WIP) NOT A HOLIDAY.  How cool is that???  Gary has a fun blog that's full of unique posts about all sorts of topics (kind of random...like me).  So if you haven't met Gary, please hop over and meet him....

I'd like to pass this award along to some other blog friends:

  15. Hello Sharon,
Hearty congrats on receiving those two highly coveted and much loved awards. You are indeed a most worthy recipient. Well done.
I shall now endeavour to check out those you have kindly bestowed these highly sought after awards, too. I've every confidence that you have made some excellent choices. And, thank you for noting me and your very kind words. You may have realised that I have been overwhelmed with the praise I have been receiving over at my humble and shy blog. I must remain humble and shy. I must not let all the glowing accolades, go to my head:-) Of course, I would never dream of BEGGING your readers to check out my blog:-)
Thank you, Sharon. I must go now and yell out my window, here, in Leek, just how awesome I am.
    Then again...maybe not.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy a flask of coffee.
    Peaceful wishes, your way, Gary.

  18. Yea, I get those really moments fairly often. a lot of times it occurs during reading books that everyone I talked to said that it was good a "must read" if you will. I close the book a few chapters later and think really, this is good.
But good thing opinions vary so much; so much so, I don't have to question my friendship with said people.

  19. Congrats on your awards and your prize - sounds like a yummy treat!

  20. Gosh ~ those are some fun prizes you received! I haven't had pixie sticks for ever. I bet they still taste as yummy. And so many awards you have won ~ good for you!

I had a 'really' moment the other day in Calgary when I overheard a waiter complain to his co-worker that the tip he received from a table he was waiting on wasn't even worth his effort of being nice. "Really?" Do we really have to pay someone to be nice to us??? So sad.

Hope you had a happy Monday Sharon!
    xo Catherine

  21. No one's ever given me a blog award before! THANK YOU! I FEEL SO SPECIAL! You made my week :) I'll definitely mention this in my next post! Oh Sharon!

  22. Coffee is a great writing snack, by the way. It's much healthier than say, munching on chocolate and chips in my opinion...Good choice!

  23. Congrats on the awards. That pixie popcorn sounds dangerous!

  24. Congratulations on your awards and thank you for passing one on to me.

    Wash when needed? Hmmm.

  25. Thank you so much, Sharon! What a nice surprise. I'll have to get on it and pass it on.

I was petrified of werewolves when I was a kid. My dad would rent movies like Silver Bullet and The Howling, American Werewolf in London, etc.... I'd have nightmares all the time. None of the other stuff really scared me, but werewolves were just that one thing I knew were waiting for me in the woods. lol!
Not so scared of them anymore... actually kind of like them now. Same with spiders... they creeped me out as a kid but now they fascinate me.

Love the shirt tag. Good thing they included that valuable suggestion. :)

My really moments have been lately when I hear what people say to another friend whose father is in a coma. Really? You want to tell him it's for the best???? My friend is hurting, don't you see??? :o)

    Have a wonderful day, Sharon!
