New Moon, Did You Go?

Did you go to New Moon? We went to the 4:30 show this afternoon. When we walked out, at 6:45, the line for the 7:30 was out the door and down the street. So to all those people who are saying it's over, they better hold on to that thought. Based on my observations tonight, vampires and werewolves are still HOT HOT HOT.

What did you think? Are you anxiously awaiting Eclipse? I am.

  1. I'm one of the few people who still hasn't read any of the books. (yes, I'm ashamed to admit that) I finally bought the first one, but I have to finish my James Dashner book first. :)

  2. Shannon--I'm not a huge fantasy reader. I like realistic and historic fiction the best, but the Twilight series is like real fiction with a big twist. It's like all those emotions of being a teenager, but instead of being in love with some cute boy, your in love with a hot vampire and best friends with a werewolf. I was just going to read the first book, but two weeks later, after I finished the series, I was able to do the laundry and wash the dishes. They really are good.

  3. I've heard that from a lot of people (even a few men), so I know it's time to take the plunge. I'm a little afraid that once I start I won't be able to stop - my husband hates it when that happens! :)

  5. Shannon--Be prepared for having all the sensations of being a teenager again when you read them. It's not often a series makes me stop life, I think this one is worth it. :) Happy reading!

Kelly--Didn't you love the ending. You could tell who had and hadn't read the books by the reaction. If the movie is coming out in June, I wonder when they'll put New Moon on DVD.

  6. I'm so glad so many people are enjoying this movie. I'm afraid I'm hopelessly lost in the world of Junie B. Johes and other books of that genre.
I'm so happy you were able to see the movie.

  7. Joany--I read pictures books and begining chapter books by day and mid-grade and young adult at night. I read resource/technique books when I'm waiting in the car for my daughter. LOL I didn't realize how organized my reading schedule sounds until I wrote it down. I love Junie!

  8. I loved New Moon. There was something so real and enjoyable about it, and Jacob (who I mostly found annoying in the books) broke my heart in the movie. I'm so excited about Eclipse I can barely stand it! :)

  9. Jess--It was heart breaking wasn't it? But again, it's that whole "I love her, but she loves him" story from our teenage years. So sad, but beautiful. Gut wrenching tears...we all had them or will have them depending on our ages.

  10. I dropped my daughter and her friends at the early movie...they loooooved it and can't wait for more, more, MORE! I'm happy, because what these kids are making are memories of this time in their lives.

  11. Anita--Isn't it nice when your kids are just being kids, not trying to grow up too fast. My daughter loved the movie (but not as much as the books) and is looking forward to taking her English aunt to it next week.

  12. I didn't expect to like the New Moon movie too much, since I didn't really care for the book, but I loved it. I agree you get a whole different perspective on Jacob in the movie. I thought the ending would have been more dramatic had they made Bella's feelings on that particular subject clear - I don't remember that ever being addressed in the movies.

  13. Sharon! You just gave away the ending for those who haven't seen it yet. Spoiler alert! Jillian hated the way the ending left you hanging, which I'm not sure why, since she's read the whole series and knows what happens. But luckily Eclipse is coming out in June, so those who haven't read the books won't have to wait long.

  14. Thanks, Susan. Sometimes I forget we're not having a private conversation when I'm blogging.

    Problem solved...comment deleted.
