I don't really have anything brilliant to say...The leaves are getting blown off our trees...And that means it won't be long until winter arrives...
There are some good things about winter: it's very pretty and snowstorms are exciting.
There are some not so good things about it too: it gets really cold and it lasts a long time.
What are your favorite things to do in the winter?
All over the place people are moaning about winter before it gets here. It could end up being a very mild winter anyway. Shouldn't worry about it before it happens.
ReplyDeleteIs that you on that snow plow, Sharon? Wow, you're brave? It looks like a hard job!
ReplyDeleteI like to sip hot chocolate in the winter!
Hey Sharon,
ReplyDeleteHave you missed me? Okay, I'm here now :)
It has felt like winter during the alleged 'summer' in Britain. Which means, we are well prepared.
My favourite thing to do in winter is watch Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, turn into a snow plough, using her nose!
Hugs and stay warm, Gary :)
I'm hoping for a mild winter like last year. I like that there's no yard work for a few months. I don't love the cold though the first snow is pretty.
ReplyDeleteWait for Christmas!! :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care

Snow can be gorgeous - those sunny, crisp winter days are so pretty. I can do without the super cold days, but I can't imagine being without winter.
ReplyDeleteUmmm, sitting on the beach, taking my stand-up paddle board into the ocean, perhaps a barbeque on the sand...sort of what I do in fall, spring and summer. Although I did like the first snow days of winter in DC, I can certainly live without the cold and the slush and the scraping of ice off windscreens...yeah, I think I like my winter better :)
ReplyDeletelove that pic! we dont get much snow by our house. but we could get a ice storm and then its soooo pretty cause everything looks like crystal. and...no school!!!
ReplyDelete...hugs from lenny
Skiing!!!
ReplyDeleteI love skiing. It's the only sport I'm kind of good at.
And I love riding the ski lift, especially on a weekday when the slopes are empty and the mountain is peaceful.
Hello Sharon!
ReplyDeleteWe are just now starting to see the beginnings of the changing of the season here in the Northwest. I LOVE Autumn, and the coziness (and lack of yardwork) that the cooler weather brings. Here is a song by one of my favorite singers...it's not the most uplifting melody however it seems to capture what many people feel as the seasons and their world changes.

Autumn Leaves by Edith Piaf
Brrrrrrrrr! But snuggle season can be fun!
ReplyDeleteHi, Sharon! I'm not really a winter person. Snow is a bad four letter word to me. ; ) I stay indoors as much as I possibly can. The snow is pretty to look at, but I hate being out in it.
ReplyDeleteI do like Christmas. The pretty decorations. The Christmas cards and the looks on the kids faces when they open their Christmas presents.
**I've got most of my Christmas shopping taken care of for the year, so no fighting crowds. Yeah!**
I love winter and spending time out in the snow (including shoveling), we build fires and cook dinner in the fireplace and cuddle up with coffee and good books. What's not to love?

The best thing to do in the winter is to huddle up in some blankets with some freshly made hot cocoa and sit in front of the fireplace. I love the smell of a wood-burning fire.
ReplyDeleteI'm in favor of vetoeing winter this year. :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of winter, but snow storms can be kind of fun, and I do enjoy a fire in the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I don't like shoveling snow, I love winter. That's prime time for writing all snuggled up with my keyboard, cocoa, and fleece blanket.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have just one snowy winter in my life! Living in a tropical country you can't imagine how romantic it looks to me!
ReplyDeleteIt's snowing here my friend. Well it's all so sad isn't it? Blah!

Hi Sharon .. gosh I hope we have an easy winter this year (down in the south) ... I'll be reading books this year me thinks! Making sure I hit the great outdoors for some walks and exercise ... and generally relaxing, readying for a new year ..
ReplyDeleteFunny our leaves hadn't really started turning as I drove round the country ... some reds ... but lots of green still ..
Just that thought of Spring coming round ... yet some beautiful days .. clear and crisp and even ..
Cheers Hilary
It's been so warm here in Flag that it blew me away this am when I awoke to cold October temps and drizzly rain. I've loved the fall and wish it would stay even longer than it has.
ReplyDeleteBut you are right... the snow is coming!
Stay warm. <3
Call me crazy, but after >100 degree weather all summer I'm looking forward to winter!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE winter. I love the warming foods. I love snuggling under blankets. I love the sound of rain... Yum.
ReplyDeleteIt lasts SOOOOOOOOO long, bestie. And summer is SOOOOOOOOOO short. *sigh* But I hope we have a very coold one. Like I told Lenny, we had too many bugs this year. And the horseflies were as big as the horses. So bring it on. And I love Christmas. But I don't have ANY shopping done yet. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do in winter is hole up indoors!
ReplyDeleteMy least favorite thing is icy sidewalks.
Oh my. That looks cold. We went swimming this weekend. :-)
ReplyDeleteWinter is pretty much the same here in L.A.--only a little colder. Sometimes I wish for snow, though I know I'd never survive it.:D

Winter is my favorite time to go on walks. I like the chill in the air and any breezes. I also get to turn on the heat, when I'm used to the cooling a/c. I like that cozy feeling of being warm and indoors.
ReplyDeleteHot baths!
ReplyDeleteI love your plow! I broke our snow blower last year...luckily I have a 13 year old son to help shovel!
ReplyDeleteTrying to read between the lines I was looking for the positive side. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love building snowmen in the winter and making snow angels. Of course drinking hot chocolate is a necessity after that. :)
ReplyDeleteAck, don't remind me! We're probably going to get NAILED this winter, too. All that rain this morning I kept thinking "At least it's not snow. At least it's not snow"
