I'd like to wish each of you a Happy Mother's Day.
About 17 years ago my Brilliant Husband and I decided we wanted to be parents. Becoming a parent wasn't as easy as it sounds... It took us several years of trying, along with a wonderful fertility doctor before we finally got pregnant.
Every year has been a blessing. Every phase of her life has brought us so much joy.
Now my baby is fifteen. I still cherish every moment I get to spend with her. It makes my heart ache when I think of her going off to college in three years.
Being a parent is a gift. Not everyone gets that gift, so if you are lucky enough to be a parent...treasure your babies. Show them you love them. Tell them you love them. Make sure they know that you are blessed because you had them.
Gorgeous post Sharon and happy mummy day to you :) I had a lovely day with my mum and three of my babies. I treasure every moment I spend with them.

It is strange when they grow up and leave the nest.

ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to you!!! Moms are the real gift!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a most tempestuous relationship with my mum but I know she will move heaven and earth for me and then some more to save me!
:-)
Take care
Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
My kids give me memories every single day. Just last night, after the performance of Sound of Music, Brandon, who is small for his six years, climbed up my nun's costume and said, VERY loudly, "I love you, Mom!" and then spent the next few minutes creating a heart shape with his hands to remind me. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter Crystal is ten... and I know I simply don't have enough time left before she goes off to college. I have to make sure every single day with my kids counts, every moment.
I feel like I already miss them.
Thank you for the post.
sweet turnabout - I imagine your daughter thinks the world of you :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to you as well, Sharon. I have so many great memories with my kids, it would be hard to narrow it down to just one. I just like being with them, and experiencing all I can by their sides. :)

Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteThis is a month of many changes in the lives of my children...and as we struggle to accept the inevitability of growing up, it helps to pause sometimes and just BE in that moment.
Kids grow so fast.

ReplyDeleteLike you, I cherish every day I spend with my two kids.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most member able days was probably the day my kids learn to ride their bikes. Just to see the freedom and sense of accomplishment shine in their eyes… made me feel like the best dad ever.
Happy Mother’s Day… and thx for the reminder to think of my kids on this day.
Happy Mother's Day Sharon! :-) From what you tell me about her, your daughter sounds like an amazing young woman.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mom's Day!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a wonderful day here - lots of moms and lots of fun! And my kids had me all teary and laughing with their gifts. There's nothing better! :)
Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteVery true words indeed Sharon! I have a lot of lovely memories of special times with my mom and my son. I think on of my favorites is, that at the age of 20, my son still quite often gives me a kiss good night and says that he loves me. I never take it for granted!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post my friend!

Sharon, what a sweet post!
ReplyDeleteI went to a Mother's Tea at my daughter's preschool the other day. They sang a song about enjoying them while they were small because they were going to be big someday soon and of course I cried! They do grow up so fast. You have to treasure every day.
Happy Mother's Day to you!!
Amy
My daughter is 14 and I'm trying to prepare myself for college too. It's going to be hard so I'm trying to enjoy these last few years.

ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! I know how lucky I am to have my kids - I need to do a better job of letting them know that too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day Sharon! Found this quote (annonymous)
ReplyDelete"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about."
It is good to savor the moments with your precious daughter...(even the ones that add a spot of grey or a bit of heartburn) I am blessed with two wonderful daughters who have given me four totally awesome grand-munchkins who keep me smiling!
Lovely post, Sharon! You're right, we need to savor every moment, because time flies too quickly! :( Hope you had a wonderful day on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteTotally reading this late but happy Mother's Day. Very nice post!

ReplyDeleteI love your thoughts about your sweet girl. I need to constantly remind myself to treasure each moment with them--even the poopy diapers and cranky late nights. :o) Thank you, Sharon!
