(A Castle bathroom...)
I'd like to thank Arlee Bird for organizing the A-Z Challenge! This is my first time to do it...I have chosen a topic for the entire month. Since I write for younger children and we are doing the ABC's I thought I would do The ABC's of A Good Friend (and throw in a few random pictures, because I have a little bit of a photo addiction).
~C~
I hope you've been thinking about the qualities you'd like to see in a friend...
Sometimes you need a friend who has the courage to stand up to you. One that will tell you you are wrong. One that's not scared to say you shouldn't do something like, blast an agent or editor on your blog or wear a dress with massive pink and orange flowers on it to a formal event. Real friends will tell you...They will have the courage to not let you look foolish.
I look for compassionate friends...ones who care deeply. If you look at the word compassionate, part of the word is passionate. I'd never noticed that until today. I want friends who care with a passion; care about others, care about animals, care about our world, care about themselves, and care about our relationship.
What other "C" words do you know that represent qualities in friends????
hi miss sharon! wow for sure courage and compassion are just cool friend words. that castle picture is real neat. did you do that when you were in england? how could you know its a bathroom?
ReplyDelete...hugs from lenny
C can be for a concerned companion! And clever, because I like to laugh with my friends! :)
ReplyDeleteI was in your neck of the woods for a night last week, but my oldest and I were down and out with a bad cold sickness (it's still hanging on) and I had limited computer access so I couldn't visit with you!!! I really want to next time I'm in the area!
I like your "C" words! I would add "Comforting" because we all need that sometimes!
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely qualities I look for in a friend. *Especially* friends that have the courage to make sure I don't look like a fool when I leave the house! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe ABC's of friendship is a brilliant idea, Sharon! Comfort and concern are two I think of. I love your choices, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea and I totally agree that a friend needs to care.
ReplyDeleteCool? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteConsiderate is also good!!!! Caring and compassionate and courageous of course!!!
Yay for lovely friends like these!! Take care
x
There are a lot of great C words. What can I add? Cooperative? (there's the mom in me:) Creative? Constructive? Charismatic?
ReplyDeleteI tend to circulate around compassionate people. It's a very important quality that you can't fake.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you need a little crazy, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI want a friend who'll share chocolate. Hahaha! And carrot cake. And apple crumble. To sit and chat over cappuccinos! :-D
ReplyDeleteConsiderate... is a big one for me. If you have no consideration for other's feeling then you are not a true friend. Caring, how about Consoling, when times are just too much to handle.
ReplyDeleteSo many amazing C words. Being considerate of others' feelings, even if opinions differ, is important to me.
ReplyDeleteThose are great c's for friendship. Compassionate is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
I love the Cs! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat Challenge theme.
you are all of those things, Sharon. and much more.
ReplyDeleteThat's very good, you've made my day Complete!
ReplyDeleteThose are some lovely 'C' words Sharon! I like my friends "Cat-like"... :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Week to you!
xo Catherine
Great "C" words, Sharon! I don't have any new ones to add, but caring is definitely the first "C" friend word that comes to my mind.
ReplyDeleteAlso a friend who has the courage to stand up for you. When all others seem against you, you can find out who your real friends are and who is willing to back you up. Many great C words in the comments.
ReplyDeleteContrary to my usual practice of subscribing to comments, to save time during the challenge I will not be doing so at the moment. If you want to respond to my comment , please email me directly from your email notification for the comment.
Thanks. And I truly appreciate your efforts.
