A Desperate Plea...

Yesterday my daughter and I took a shopping trip to our "old" mall and visited with a bunch of "old" friends.  On the way to lunch and the mall we saw this desperate plea in someones back yard...Although it looks small (cause it's a photograph) that's a larger than life size cow!  (I had to loop around a couple times to find a spot to park on the side of the road. Then walked about a quarter mile so I could take this photo, but it was sooo worth it!) So If this is your back yard and you really want to be my facebook friend.  I'll friend you.

In other news...Lenny did an awesome job critiquing my picture book, A CAKE I WILL BAKE!  I sure appreciated his help.  His big brother offered some advice too, which was awful sweet.  (Lenny, I just moved you to the critique buddy section on my side bar!)

Have you seen anything on the side of the road that made you stop and take a picture?  I hope so, it sure makes life more interesting...and it can be great for character development.

  2. Awww that's a brilliant reason to stop and take a pic!! Lovely!!

I tend to travel by public transport so am unable to stop at will but there are so many times I'd have loved to - mainly because I see wildlife (deer now and again, foxes or a bird of prey and always because of new born lambs and calves and a pony every so often - awww!).

Go Lenny! We love Lenny and his big brother!!

    Take care

  4. Yay for Lenny and Alex!!! They rock! I once saw a man carrying an old school boom box on his shoulder while walking down the street. Must've been playing his life's theme music. I wish I could do that.

  10. That's some picture!

I once stopped the car, when I saw a harlequin Great Dane. I'd put one in my novel and to actually see one close to my own neighborhood, I was thrilled.

  11. Hi Sharon .. what a great back yard .. such fun! I hope they get loads of FB friends ..

Excellent that Lenny did such a good job critiquing your cake book .. as a kid I loved making cakes .. not so much now - but then no kids to feed!

I can't say I have seen an enticing sign - but I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled now .. that cow is something to chat and laugh about for a while! Hilary

  12. I love that cow! Not in my yard though, I don't think. I'm kinda fickle and next week/month/year I'm going to have to get rid of it and what exactly do you do with a life-size statue of a COW?

There's a sign in the middle of road construction that says "Workers Working" which cracks me up. Just in case I might think the workers were dancing or singing or maybe I might think it was a bunch of ballerinas working. Not sure why they need the sign when the gazillion cones and ripped up road OUGHT to be the only clue you need that someone is working there

  13. Haha ~ that's funny!

I stopped and took a picture of a ridiculously pink colored house once. It hurt my eyes to look at it. :(

  14. Haha, someone sure has a sense of humor! :)

I love to look for witty sayings when I'm driving (I usually come across them on the billboards of mom and pop stores and vet clinics) -- it sure makes running errands that much more interesting!

  17. I'm assuming that picture was taken in St. Charles, right? Where was it? I've never seen that cow.

  18. Hmmm...I typed up a comment to all 17 of you and Blogger got mad at me and bounced me off...Let me just say I was charming & intelligent, and you would have been rolling on the floor if blogger hadn't deleted all 17 of my responses! (GRR) Just so everyone knows the photograph was taken in St. Peters, Missouri and the person purchased the cow from a dairy (someone told me) and decorates it for every holiday. I guess he was making a statement about pop culture...There was no FB address or I would have shared it after I had friended him so you could friend him too...

    THANKS FOR STOPPING IN!
