11.7 inches...Are You Ready For It?

ARE YOU READY FOR IT???

Weathermen are predicting 11.7 inches of snow here by Friday. You should, probably, rush to the grocery store and buy as much food as you can possibly fit into your freezer. Once you've done that, zoom to your favorite general merchandise store and purchase all the toilet paper and dog food you can carry. After all, the ten o’clock news is predicting some roads won’t be plowed until Thursday. (Funnily, no one is suggesting you to fill up your gas tank or buy salt for your drive way.)  I’m starting to think it’s some sort of conspiracy endorsed by your local grocery and general merchandise stores.

Could you possibly run out of milk? Could you manage for a couple days without milk? Of course if you have small children requiring milk, I expect, you probably keep more than a day’s supply in your fridge. BTW, the lumber industry isn’t running spots on the news that your need to purchase extra wood in case we have a blizzard/snowstorm.

ARE YOU PANICING? ARE YOU RUSHING TO THE SHOPS TONIGHT?  DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH FOOD ON HAND FOR A COUPLE WEEKS? (Or at least until Saturday?)

STAY WARM AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE SUPPLIES YOU NEED TO SURVIVE THE UPCOMING SNOWSTORM…

P.S. If you haven't entered my contest, please follow the link and join in.

  1. It rained here in L.A. today but now it has stopped. It's freezing cold though -- probably in the 50's. I've gotten so spoiled living here in Southern California over the past 20 years. When I lived in Northern Indiana I recall snowstorms where the snowdrifts were as high as the house and the snow stayed on the ground for weeks. I loved it back then when I was in Junior High but I don't know if I'd like it now. Good luck and have fun in the snow. Maybe you'll have a white Christmas.

  2. I'm so glad I don't live up north anymore, since snow is absolutely not my thing. We had a thin covering of snow in the landscaping yesterday morning, but that's it so far. Get your snow boots out, Sharon!

  3. Sharon, your blog title had me a bit worried that you'd gone over to your Sapphire persona! LOL! :)

No more snow here, but the high yesterday was 20. It was 10 last night. We can't keep the chicken's water unfrozen and it's not supposed to get above freezing until Friday. I hate cold!

  4. It's soooo cold here and snowing and I'm low on food (though, really, we could probably survive a long time on what we've got, though not be very happy about it). I hope this blow's over soon! But it's good writing weather, right?!

  5. 11.7 inches? Checking to see how far Iowa is from Ohio. :) a couple states in between. I think we're fine here, though I'm checking our forecast anyway. Enjoy the snow, but whatever you do, don't panic!

  6. Anita--I hope you ran to the shops today. I cooked a massive pot of vegetarian chili tonight. It was great after snow blowing or being blown by snow this evening.

Ellie--I'm not sure if this storm's heading your direction, but I would guess you'd get it in a couple days. I blew snow twice today, but have settled in for the evening and am in my PJs....

School has been cancelled for tomorrow...I will be a great writing day. :) I won't even be able to get to the gym...NO EXCUSES!!!

  7. We are expected about five inches tonight so we're okay! My husband just did a survey of what is in our freezer, and we have enough for months!
    Stay warm!!
