  1. Anything by Ruth Culham. She's more teacher-training oriented (6 traits of writing), but I learn SO MUCH about children's lit from her every time I take a course. I've done three so far! :-)

  2. You already know this, but Chautauqua, of course! Excellent topic for your post - I'll be waiting to see what everyone else has to say.

  3. Chautauqua has to be one of the best. For a more intimate setting with a real working pro, writers should check out Barbara Seuling's wonderful writing workshops in Vermont. http://www.barbaraseuling.com/

  5. Chautauqua was great, of course. I have heard wonderful things about Darcy Pattison's workshops.

  6. Shannon, Susan, Steve, Terry, Amy--Thanks for your thoughts. I was hoping we'd have tons of comments and suggestions. I hope everyone finds a conference they want to go to this year.

  7. We haven't been to any conferences yet, but we're really hoping to go to SCBWI LA this summer. We'll see...

  8. Lisa & Laura--I hope you get to go to LA too. I've loved the conferences I've been to. I'm trying to get The WAD to go to a conference/retreat.
