What Happens in Vegas...part two

Please forgive me...I posted a few lot of pictures of things we saw on the strip and inside some of the casinos in Las Vegas.  I did use quite a bit of restraint...I took over 300 pictures and am only posting a small sampling of them.

This spray of water looked like it was in a tube.  It arched over a walkway.  My Brilliant Husband stuck his finger in it to prove that he was right.  It wasn't in a tube...and we got wet.

This butterfly house was inside a casino.

One thing that surprised me were the outdoor escalators and walkways over the street.
 Isn't this a cool chandelier?
The Bellagio had a ferris wheel inside it!
I can't remember which casino had a merry-go-round in it.
 Another cool chandelier!

Did anyone see the movie Big?  Zoltar was at Circus Circus Casino.

This was an awesome shopping mall!

Quite a few of the casinos had fake grass!
There were lots of sparkly lights...
Sadly, the Sahara is closing it's doors according to a newspaper we saw when we were leaving for home.  We thought it was awfully quiet in there...
We also saw the Brooklyn Bridge and a tug boat.  The inside of the New York, New York Casino was full of "buildings" that looked like brownstones and apartments...It was very cool!
We didn't make it to this casino, but it looked really fun...

Thanks for stopping in and checking out part two of our 25th anniversary trip.  If you missed part one you can check it out here.  I'll be posting part three on Monday.  (My sister is coming for a long weekend, so I won't be posting on Sunday night...)

What is the most interesting place you have been to on holiday?

  2. Great pics. I love looking at pictures. I remember "Big," and it was such a fun movie. Yep, I remember Zoltar!

One of the big casinos (I forget which one because I haven't seen it yet) has a Titanic exhibit for $30 (I think) and it has part of the real Titanic in it. I'd like to see that.

One of my favorite trips was three years ago when my hubby and I went to Maui. It was whale watching season, and watching the humpback whales was mesmerizing. A neighbor in the condo below us (she lives in Hawaii) told me she was out in her canoe and was surround by a pod of whales. She said it was fascinating, that they were just curious and got close, but she wasn't afraid! Some are as big as a bus. I would've been pretty scared! We could see them popping up in the water while driving along the coast! Thanks for asking that question. It brought back some wonderful memories.

  4. Hi Sharon .. love the pictures and you're right the water did look like a glass tube - despite the wetting - bet you got dry quickly ...

Enjoy sharing the photos and stories with your sister over the weekend .. I've never been - but I guess at some stage 'I must' fit a visit in ..

    Cheers - Hilary

  5. Those pictures are amazing. I never thought I'd want to go to Las Vegas, but those pics make it tempting. That glass chandelier was made by Dale Chihuly--I'd recognize his work anywhere. Very cool.

  8. Congratulations on 25 years!!

I love your photos - you have some really great ones in here. What a great place to have a camera, too!

It's been many years since I went to Vegas, and it looks very different. My husband and I keep saying we'll go back sometime, but there are always so many other things to do. One of these days though...

  10. Happy anniversary! Since we only live 250 miles away, we go to Vegas twice a year and now we don't even take pictures anymore. Thanks for the wonderful photos of our home away from home.

  12. Very cool pics, Sharon.

The coolest place I've ever visited was this town called FengHuang in China. It was all built on a river on stilts and was just the most amazing place! Hardly any foreigners go there because it's way off the beaten track ... incredible trip!

  13. Love your pictures. The chandeliers are unique. And everything else looks so fun. My best trips were to India where I met my husband and to China where I adopted my daughter.

  18. Thank you for sharing the lovely pictures.

I think the prettest vacation we had was in 1990 in San Francisco. It was beautiful.
Back then though I did not know how to use computer. Maybe I can figure out how to download my pictures and put them up too.

Oh by the way we did go through a small earthquake in 1990. That was still one of the aftershocks from Oct.89' earthquake where the Insterstate fell on top of the other interstate. So I've been through two tornado's and one earthquake in my lifetime..maybe that will be it..I hope.

  22. Man you have a knack with a camera. :o) Thanks for sharing!! I love all the bright and shinies there. (Though I'm sure the real places are better. The only one I can say for sure is Rome. Definitely better than Vegas. lol)

    Have a great long weekend!

  24. The hotels in Vegas amaze me. Each one is like its own city. It sounds like you guys had a great time. Last time I went there was two years ago, on our way to Lake Powell (which was beautiful). Happy anniversary!

  27. That 3rd one looks creepy. I love the chandeliers too.

I don't think I've been any place that odd. My husband has been to Vegas, and he says it's strange.
