Sharing Goals For This Week

Last week I submitted two pieces...one to Highlights and one to Children's Writer's Kindergarten Story Contest.  I haven't submitted anything for a while.  I loved both pieces and am feeling pretty good about them.  (Cross your fingers and toes for me, please.)

My goals for this week are to do revisions on a beginning chapter book called BEG, BORROW, AND EARN.

What did you do last week?
What are your goals for next week?

Have a wonderful week! (Happy writing, reading, walking, singing, purring, taking photographs, dancing, going to work, mothering, fathering, running, talking, playing, blogging or shopping.)

  1. Good luck on those submissions! All digits crossed for you!

Last week I completely obsessed on revising a manuscript based on feedback from my agent. I finished that round of revisions this weekend.

My goal for next week is to leave the manuscript alone for a few days before tackling it again (SO hard for me to do!) and sketch out some ideas for my WIP and 2 other ideas lurking in limbo.

  2. Fingers crossed; good luck.

I worked and spent time with the family, I haven’t written much as of late, still waiting for my daughter to finish editing my book.

I might begin my third and final draft in a few months… I might even start on a new story—who knows, thx for posting.

  3. Hi Sharon,
Like you, I haven't submitted anything in a while. But sometimes a break is necessary in writing. I wish you good luck in your two submissions. Please keep us updated if your stories get published.

  5. Fingers crossed for your submissions. Exciting.

5 minutes ago I finished writing up the ending for my current WIP. I'd been avoiding it for ages -- even went back and edited a lot of the book without the ending in place. lol. But it's done now. YAY

  18. Hi Sharon,
First of all, my apologies for not visiting your wonderful site, lately.
Anyway, here's wishing you the very best with your submissions and continued happy writing.
What I did last week is rather profoundly etched on my last posting. My goals for the upcoming week are to remain positive during a very negative time.
May you have a peaceful, positive week.
    In kindness, Gary :)

  21. Good luck, Sharon! I hadn't submitted to a magazine in over a year so created a few word puzzles to send to Highlights Puzzlemania (they've bought three of mine in the past) and received an email that they don't take submissions anymore since Jan 2010! Oh well. Maybe I'll send them to Ladybug...
I'm also plugging along on my current mg this week.

  26. Good for you, Sharon. I'm so proud of you. I'm afraid, my intention to enter that Children's Writer's Contest became a Was Gonna' that never quite happened. I'm really proud of you for following through on that. I can see you, now; walkin' out to your mailbox an' finding out that you won. Why, I'm sure I'll be able to hear you alla' way up here in South Dakota. Hmmmmm; I think I'll start wearing my ear-plugs. When did you say you expect to hear? ::Now, where did I PUT those ear-plugs? mutter-mutter::

    Oh. Oops. Sorry.

I was trying to type while I had my eyes crossed for you, too! That didn't work out too well - ha!

My grands have Spring break this coming week so I will be lucky if I get any writing done at all. I'm trying to get all my weeks posts up early so I can avoid too much stress.

I think it would be fun to enter childrens submissions. I bet you'll do great!
