A Prize, Two Awards and A Thought...

The post lady delivered me a wonderful surprise this week!  I had forgotten that had chosen me as one of the winners of Bethany's contest...Bethany has just landed her dream job!  You'll have to check out her blog to read about it...
Bethany shared her recipe for Pixie Popcorn in my prize package:
1 bag of popped popcorn
5-6 pixie stixs
Mix together and enjoy while writing...(I hope that you'll hop over and meet Bethany!)  Thank you Bethany!!!

Claudia Del Balso honored me with the Versatile Blogger award.  Claudia has a wonderful blog full of insightful and helpful posts for writers.  If you haven't met Claudia you really should click the link and meet her...

Here are the award rules:

3. Pass the award along to 5 other bloggers whom you have recently discovered and whose blogs you think are fantastically versatile/ resourceful/functional/adaptable.
4. Contact those bloggers you’ve picked and let them know about their award.

Seven things about myself:

5. Dusting is my least favorite chore.
6. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

 A thought for the day...
The tag on this shirt says, "Wash when needed."  I'm thinking....REALLY???
Have you had any REALLY moments lately?

  1. CONGRATS on your two awards! Congrats to those you passed it on to! Have a great week!

  2. Congratulations with your fab prize - wow!! And you brilliant award! Cupcakes and coffee are staples and should be on everyone's diets (unless you are diabetic or allergic of course!!!!).

My really moment: A bag of monkey peanuts with the warning: "contains peanuts".

    Take care

  3. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of dusting, either. Thank you for plugging my writing contest!! So nice of you, and you gave me an award. Aw...I'm humbled. Thank you.

I'll have to check Gary out.

  4. Congrats on the awards. And I loved the "Wash when needed." Made me smile. I can't think of any Really moments now, but if I do I'll return to post. Have a super week, Sharon. You're the best:)

  5. Thanks so very much for the award!

    I feel so special now.

I like that you drink coffee out of a flask!

  7. Congratulations on the nice awards! I really like that tag...whoever came up with that must have an interesting life!

  8. Congrats!! And thanks for providing the links to some interesting looking blogs!!
And I'm with Kelly, I also think it's cool that you drink coffee out of a flask!!

  9. Hee hee. Congrats on the awards. I'm not sure what to think of that shirt. Wash when needed? When do you know it is needed? Hum... =d

  10. I was preparing for a deep thought for the day when I came to the end of your post -- that made the light moment even lighter for me, Sharon! :-) You deserve all the awards you were given!

  11. Congrats on the awards! And that shirt? What DO people think??

  12. Congrats on the award... Ummm, seriously? Wash when needed? Ummm. I'm amazed.

  13. Congrats to you :o)

My least favourite chore would have to be scrubbing out the shower. I would choose to clean toilets over showers anyday!

  14. Congratulations on the awards!

And Pixie Popcorn sounds really good. Let us know how it turns out.

  15. Hello Sharon,
Hearty congrats on receiving those two highly coveted and much loved awards. You are indeed a most worthy recipient. Well done.
I shall now endeavour to check out those you have kindly bestowed these highly sought after awards, too. I've every confidence that you have made some excellent choices. And, thank you for noting me and your very kind words. You may have realised that I have been overwhelmed with the praise I have been receiving over at my humble and shy blog. I must remain humble and shy. I must not let all the glowing accolades, go to my head:-) Of course, I would never dream of BEGGING your readers to check out my blog:-)
Thank you, Sharon. I must go now and yell out my window, here, in Leek, just how awesome I am.
    Then again...maybe not.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy a flask of coffee.
    Peaceful wishes, your way, Gary.

  16. hi miss sharon! wow you got a cool prize for sure. pixie popcorn? im not sure if i could like that but i could try it cause mostly ill try any thing. yikes! youre scared of werewolfs. i hope you dont ever meet one. ha ha. hooray for all the ones that got awards. for that really thing at walmart on the superman halloween costume it says something like wearing this wont make you able to fly. ha ha
...laughs and hugs from lenny (just only 2 more days!!!!!!)

  17. Mmmm, coffee in a flask. YEAH! I knew you and I were gettin' the same vibes. And cupcakes. Hey, me too. Who knew?

Congrats on your prize and well deserved awards.

    GO Hurricanes! :) hehe

  18. Yea, I get those really moments fairly often. a lot of times it occurs during reading books that everyone I talked to said that it was good a "must read" if you will. I close the book a few chapters later and think really, this is good.
But good thing opinions vary so much; so much so, I don't have to question my friendship with said people.

  19. Congrats on your awards and your prize - sounds like a yummy treat!

  20. Gosh ~ those are some fun prizes you received! I haven't had pixie sticks for ever. I bet they still taste as yummy. And so many awards you have won ~ good for you!

I had a 'really' moment the other day in Calgary when I overheard a waiter complain to his co-worker that the tip he received from a table he was waiting on wasn't even worth his effort of being nice. "Really?" Do we really have to pay someone to be nice to us??? So sad.

Hope you had a happy Monday Sharon!
    xo Catherine

  21. No one's ever given me a blog award before! THANK YOU! I FEEL SO SPECIAL! You made my week :) I'll definitely mention this in my next post! Oh Sharon!

  22. Coffee is a great writing snack, by the way. It's much healthier than say, munching on chocolate and chips in my opinion...Good choice!

  23. Congrats on the awards. That pixie popcorn sounds dangerous!

  24. Congratulations on your awards and thank you for passing one on to me.

    Wash when needed? Hmmm.

  25. Thank you so much, Sharon! What a nice surprise. I'll have to get on it and pass it on.

I was petrified of werewolves when I was a kid. My dad would rent movies like Silver Bullet and The Howling, American Werewolf in London, etc.... I'd have nightmares all the time. None of the other stuff really scared me, but werewolves were just that one thing I knew were waiting for me in the woods. lol!
Not so scared of them anymore... actually kind of like them now. Same with spiders... they creeped me out as a kid but now they fascinate me.

Love the shirt tag. Good thing they included that valuable suggestion. :)

  26. Thanks so much, Sharon! Working on a revision of an old PB manuscript. Maybe I can get your thoughts when I am done?

  27. Sounds like you have lots of interesting things going on as always. I'm going to hop over and meet Bethany now.

  28. Congrats on the awards and the cool prizes! You are so awesome and they are all well deserved.

My really moments have been lately when I hear what people say to another friend whose father is in a coma. Really? You want to tell him it's for the best???? My friend is hurting, don't you see??? :o)

    Have a wonderful day, Sharon!

  29. Congratulations on the yummy prize, and congrats to all the award winners! That shirt tag is priceless!

  30. What a super prize to win! Congratulations on your win and your awards! Such lovely people you passed them on to as well!

What a funny tag! I had a bit of a really?!! moment when I tried making a s'more in the microwave today. I had no idea marshmallow could get so big.

  31. Thanks so much for the award! What a lovely prize. And I don't know what I want to be either when I grow up. Glad there are more of us out there. I need to get cracking on the response.

  32. Sharon! I can't say goodbye to you. I didn't know I could get so attached to an online friend so quickly. Even though I'm not blogging anymore, I can still stop by yours and see what's up with you! :)

  33. LOL You gave me my first laught his morning with the tag on the shirt:))

  34. Yay! Thank you for the award! And I'm totally laughing at your #6 ~ I can relate!
